Tyke Frontier - Children Areas

The Old West Festival wants children from age 2 to 92 to have the time of their lives as they step back in to the 19th Century.  Children can ride our steam locomotive inspired train, the ponies or in a covered wagon.  Children's games, panning for gold, face painting and a playset are also just what the Doc (Holiday) ordered!

The Abigail Express Children's Train is a electric train that takes the young cowboys and cowgirls on a 10 minute route...watch out for train robbers!

Pony Rides

Black Horse Livery
Pony Rides are available all day at The Old West Festival.  Hand led Pony's and horses make every rider feel like a real cowboy!
Cost: $5 per rider
Covered Wagon

Kids Country
The Old West Festival covered wagon makes a passenger feel like they are headed west.  Through the prairies of the grounds, our covered wagon is a must ride.

We are a Juried Show. We highly encourage products to represent those available in the late 1800’s American West. We expect all items sold to our patrons to be traditional or original in design, functionally appropriate, durable, well made, and guaranteed by their maker to be satisfactory to the customer. We are accepting crafter applications for the current season.  Please contact us with all your craft questions.

Gymkhana

The Old West Festival is proud to host The Old West Festival Gymkhana Series.  Gymkhana is an equestrian event consisting of speed pattern racing and timed games for riders on horses.

A Kid Again

The Old West Festival is teaming up with Donatos and A Kid Again to bring smiles to the faces of some extra special children.
Greater Cincinnati Donatos will be selling coupon booklets for the Old West Festival from Sept 1 through October 9 for $1. The booklets contain 4 free children admissions for 1 paying adult admission to the Old West Festival and one free individual one topping Donatos pizza coupons.
